SKC Solmics, an affiliate of SKC specializing in semiconductor materials, was recognized as one of the top 100 businesses that provides good-quality jobs in 2019 jointly by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and the Presidential Committee on Jobs (PCOJ).

On July 25, SKC Solmics received a plaque of Presidential Accreditation from Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon at a ceremony held at the Sejong Convention Center in Sejong-si under the joint sponsorship of the MOEL and the PCOJ.

The accreditation of the top 100 businesses providing good-quality jobs is presented to businesses that set a good example in terms of increasing the number and/or improving the quality of jobs. This year, the MOEL explored candidate businesses through people’s recommendations and the employment insurance data_ base_, after which the top 100 businesses were selected via an onsite survey and review conducted by the relevant screening committee.

SKC Solmics received high marks for its efforts to recruit new employees and reduce work hours, as well as the mutual growth. The Company has continued to take on new recruits, resulting in a more than 45 percent increase in the number of employees from 2017, and has gradually reduced work hours to 40.8 hours per week. It has also set an example in mutual growth by providing support for facility investment to outside suppliers.

Commenting on the occasion, SKC Solmics President Oh Jun-rok said, “We will continue striving to improve our working conditions in order to increase our employees’ overall happiness and satisfaction with their work/life balance and to make the Company a workplace where employees feel like working harder. We will also endeavor to _ create_ more good-quality jobs in a bid to fulfill our social role.”

SKC Solmics was previously accredited as an exemplary business in the win-win labor-management culture by the MOEL even in 2018
